It's been a busy time here in the studio. Too busy to be takin g the time to log it all in apperantly. But I managed to get a couple of photos of things happening to share.
I've been working on some new tiles for a lamb and goat festival here on the island in May. We will be bringing down one of our Nigerian dwarves and her young. She's due at the end of March, so baring any unforeseen events she should have a litter of three or more kids.
They've asked us to bring down some pottery as well so I thought it might be a good idea to make some tiles. Here are a couple of open face press molds I made yesterday. The originals take about an hour or so of research and about two and a half hours to make plus about an hour or so to cast the mold. But once that's done it takes all of about 15 minutes to make a copy!!!!!!
And here are the first to copies to roll out. Kind of cute, don't ya think? I'll make a bunch and figure out a couple of glazes I like and than finish a handful.
I'm also working on a couple of goat tiles. Tile making is like owning a Volkswagen.....maybe that's a little obscure but if you've owned one you know what I'm talking about. Anyway that's it for now. Cheers!
