Raku and tile's

Three hour class and a three hour raku session. I'm whooped.

A little man I was working on got re-fired.

Nitzan fired this little vase in a crackle glaze on a red clay body. Nice.

 

 

 In tile class we covered using paper cut outs and porcelain slip. Once the slip dries you peel off the paper and viola! Next we will glaze with a transparent glaze that will show off each clay making a crisp clean lined designed. I'm surprised at how much detail this process is able to capture.

 

Here is a larger design that will get carving to bring out the design. But you get the idea.
