A beautiful, wonderful, spectacular snow day here on Lopez! What a fantastic day to be 'stuck' in the studio!!!

I did manage to get some work done as well. For starters the propane tank was filled.....400 gallons.....ouch! Gee I can't wait for the bill. (sarcasm) We also were able to nail down a date for a workshop this summer with
Deb Shwartzkopf as well as hammer out most of the details. It will be a fun, fun workshop I am sure. Now I can start preparing to promote the event.
As far as clay work I did get a few things done. I finished off a small batch of earthen ware samples for Stephens majolica.

I was also able to start on a new relief tile. This will accomplish two things: One, I need a relief tile so I can demonstrate an open face press mold in Saturdays tile class and Two, I wanted to make a repeating center piece for my mother in-laws back splash. The idea is to make the tile from porcelain and put two side by side surrounded by the 2.5" white tiles I've been working on (check out a previous post for a pic)

| finished size will be 4.5 x 8 inches |
It's a start but I need to spend a couple more hours on it to really flush it out. There were 4 gals in the studio today so I did spend a fair amount of time answering questions.....which I always love to do (no sarcasm)
Lastly I will leave you with one more image......
